Holiday Inn Express Somerset

Detailed Planning Permission was granted in 2017 to construct a 138 bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel at the Regional Rural Business Centre, adjacent to Junction 24 of the M5 Motorway.

The hotel is designed to the new Holiday Inn Express Generation 4 specification; in addition to the 138 bedrooms, it provides a spacious bar/restaurant & lounge area, three meeting rooms and car parking.

Bridgwater is quickly becoming a primary gateway to the South West, and there is very little branded hotel accommodation within the immediate area. This location will benefit from the increasing transient M5 motorway traffic, but more importantly, it will serve the increased demand from local businesses in the area.

The development of the Hinckley Point C nuclear power station is also a factor, and, likely, this will also provide demand for quality hotel accommodation at a reasonable price.

Construction commenced in March 2018, and the hotel opened successfully on time and budget in April 2019.
